We had a fabulous week-long holiday on Tioman Island, Malaysia. We stayed at Melina Beach Resort, which I can recommend if you like slightly different holidays with an eco-flavour. There are no tv’s, no phones, no pool, no cars. Just beach, sea, tropical jungle and endless opportunities for beautiful photography. We also found the most stunning beach bar in the world which served the best mojitos. Believe me, I could have pitched a tent on that spot. Enjoy.

Hi Dan. We stayed at Melina Beach Resort. It is an eco-resort and great for people who like peace and quiet, no tv’s, parties etc. Reasonable price also. We walked (no cars possible) from the resort going South to the nearest village and found the bar along the way. Sorry, don’t think it had a name actually but you can’t miss it, just look for the disco ball hanging from a tree, as well as the picnic table & chairs hanging from the palm tree. Try the mojitos, best I ever had. 🙂
