Watch out for those toes!

First song I heard today:  Fearless, Taylor Swift (how appropriate is that!)

Quote for the day:  “I know it’s a great temptation to go mad, but don’t go in for it, you wouldn’t like it.”  George Eliot, Middlemarch

I picked an interesting day to start this blog. A last minute change to my daughter’s social diary, led me to sitting in a Chinese bowling alley with a group of 39 screaming children between the ages of 8 and 13.

Dangerous … and I’m not referring to the bowling alley.

But, since I was committed to starting today, here I am, writing away. Everything happens with a purpose though, so maybe it is a good thing that I am sitting here, trying to write in between yelling at my kids to not drop those freakishly heavy balls on their toes, making sure everybody gets their turn and that the ‘livelier’ kids don’t roll themselves down the alley and into the pit beyond, never to be seen again.

It is time that I make peace with the fact that my writing is going to happen in snatches of time, at the most unlikely of places, including a hysterically busy Chinese bowling alley. After all, the kids are definitely not paying attention to me, someone just dropped a ball on a toe …
